FOR REFERRERS
Assessments that Create Understanding and Dialogue
Evaluating a person’s driving ability is both sensitive and challenging, as the results of the assessment can have significant consequences for personal freedom. Losing the ability to drive can be restrictive and make daily life difficult to manage.
The assessment is also complex as it requires a comprehensive evaluation, taking into account a range of factors to ensure traffic safety for both the individual and others.
In our assessments, we conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the cognitive and motor skills that are essential for safe driving, in accordance with the Swedish Transport Agency’s regulations. This includes reaction time, attention, endurance, impulse control, and information processing. Practical driving assessments are carried out in real traffic environments to observe the driver’s behaviour.
In our work, we place great emphasis on ensuring that the person undergoing an assessment understands what will happen and why. We go through the results together. The aim is to create understanding both for the assessment process and its results. A referral from a doctor is required to attend an assessment.
In addition to assessments, we also offer advice and support regarding adaptations and solutions in vehicles. A referral from a doctor, occupational therapist, or physiotherapist is required for advice.

Driving Fitness Assessments
A referral from a doctor is required to initiate an assessment at Mobilitetscenter. The referral response forms the basis for further handling of the driving licence issue. Under “Forms,” you will find fillable referral forms. There are different forms depending on the type of assessment needed. You may also use a general referral if such forms are used in your practice, but we recommend following our templates to ensure sufficient information. Missing essential information will require supplementary details, potentially delaying the processing time.
We review all incoming referrals, and confirmation of receipt is sent to both the referrer and the patient.
Advice on Adaptations
For advice and support regarding vehicle adaptations, a referral from a doctor, occupational therapist, or physiotherapist is required. You can find fillable referral forms under “Forms.” While you may use a general referral, we recommend using our templates to ensure complete information. If essential details are missing, we will request additional information, which may extend the processing time.
We review all referrals, and confirmation of receipt is sent to both the referrer and the patient.
