Mobilitetscenter at Sveriges Trafiksäkerhetsdagar, October 21

Mobilitetscenter will participate as an exhibitor at Sveriges Trafiksäkerhetsdagar conference on October 21, 2025, at Lindholmen Conference Centre in Gothenburg. The event is organized by SAFER – Vehicle and Traffic Safety Centre, a research center at Chalmers University of Technology, focusing on traffic safety.

At Mobilitetscenter exhibition booth, we will showcase Åka Säkert, an interactive website with information for parents and guardians on how children and young people with disabilities can travel safely in cars. We will also, together with BraunAbility, exhibit DriveCap. DriveCap is a test station and a new, innovative tool for clinical use in driver’s license medical assessment. DriveCap uniquely combines cognitive and physical testing in one streamlined process, allowing for more comprehensive and efficient assessments compared to traditional methods.

Are you an active driver aged 65 or older?

We are looking for test participants for the development of DriveCap – an assessment tool of medical fitness to drive. Mobilitetscenter has initiated the development of DriveCap, an assessment tool designed to clinically evaluate the cognitive and motor skills essential for driving. DriveCap has been developed in collaboration with BraunAbility and StageIT, and is partly funded by the Swedish Transport Administration’s Skyltfond and Medtech4Health, Vinnova.

We are now seeking active drivers aged 65 or older to collect baseline data, an important step in ensuring the tool’s reliability. DriveCap offers an updated solution for driving licence medical examinations, with test sessions that assess attention, reaction time, and motor abilities of driver controls in a driver´s setting.

Would you or someone you know like to contribute to the development of future driving licence assessments? Contact us at 031-22 05 90 for more information and registration.

Course in Cognitive Assessment

Mobilitetscenter’s annual course, ‘Cognitive assessment as a basis for evaluating fitness to drive in cases of cognitive impairment,’ was completed in December 2024.

The evaluation revealed that the course participants were satisfied with both the organisation and content. Some quotes from the evaluation: ‘So happy with the course’, ‘Good mix between lectures and group discussions’, ‘Have gained a better understanding of the instruments and the importance of interpreting against the regulations’, ‘The referral responses will be clearer with references to the regulations’.

Enrolment for the 2025 course is now open!
