Assessment for a learner´s permit

To begin driving license training for a car or class I moped, a learner´s permit is required. A person with a diagnosis or disability applying for a learner´s permit may be required supplement the application with a medical certificate. The certificate needs to confirm that you meet the medical requirements according to the Swedish Transport Agency’s regulations. At Mobilitetscenter, we assess cognitive and motor skills to investigate the prerequisites for obtaining a learner´s permit. You will perform several tasks that assess cognitive skills such as attention, reaction time, concentration, impulsiveness, endurance, and/or motor skills. A referral from a doctor is required to initiate this assessment. A few days after your visit, your doctor will receive a detailed report from Mobilitetscenter, describing the results of the assessment.

What applies to mopeds?

Class II moped is a moped designed for a speed of up to 25 km/h with an engine power of a maximum of 1 kilowatt. For Class II mopeds, no driving license permit is required. To obtain a driving certificate for Class II mopeds, you must be at least 15 years old, have completed training, and passed a knowledge test with an approved instructor.

To drive an EU mopedA-tractor (EPA), and moped car, a driving license with at least AM authorization is required. Before AM training can be conducted, a valid driving license permit is required. For the Swedish Transport Agency to grant this, the medical requirements for lower authorizations must be fulfilled. The medical requirements for AM driver´s license are the same as for a car.
